Taxpayers bought the GM assets; WHY CAN"T WE USE
THEM? Let's save Pontiac!!
Commentary Posting WSJ, NYT, Newsweek, Fox News
Elizabeth Warren: "what part of 'we bailed you out' do you not
get?"...The Daily Show, 1/26/10
Ms. Warren chairs The Congressional Oversight Panel
created to monitor the TARP funds. She is also a fierce
protector of the middle America.
Savingpontiac.org hopes that Ms. Warren will take a hard look
at the manner in which the bailout funds have been and are
being spent at General Motors.
After backing away from spending $100 million in taxpayer
money on closing Saab, GM will now embark on spending
$200 million taxpayer dollars and $200 million dealership
dollars (looks like a tax to me) on arbitration of dealer
contracts (per the AP dealers will spend $100K on appeal
and since these are individual cases, GM will spend $100K
per case). These expenditures after the Company has spent
close to $1 Billion on closing Saturn, Pontiac, and various
manufacturing facilities.
Savingpontiac.org continues to believe that the factories, such
as Spring Hill, Tn and the Pontiac brand already belong to
taxpayers. In addition we believe that the disenfranchised
dealers can form a distribution network to a reconstituted
Pontiac (saving $400 million). As we have stated before there
are 60,000 American jobs, all in middle America, available for
America by allowing new management to own and run Pontiac
from the closed factories.
Our organization also believes that with a reasonable
compensation to GM approaching $1 billion for the facilities
and the brand would more than compensate them similarly,
and in line with the Saab deal.
Jobs for middle America right in front of us and yet our
President continues to flail about looking for American jobs.
What part of bailed out do these people not understand?

The Taxpayers own Pontiac and every idle asset
of General Motors. Why not let entrepreneurs
take the reins of Pontiac and some idle
assets...add a small amount of the bailout
money; ='s real "shovel ready jobs".
